Daniel Sloss quit cannabis without declaring war on it

Comedian Daniel Sloss has broken up with cannabis without demanding that everyone else do the same. In a Dropouts episode published on 28 October and discussed by High Times on the 30th, he described six months without using it, his longest break since he was sixteen. His self-deprecating joke landed on a familiar myth: he had managed to become dependent on supposedly “non-addictive” cannabis. He still speaks fondly of the plant, but is working on his own dependence with a specialist: the familiar “blankie”, as he called cannabis, has had to be put aside.
