Voters decline an invitation to bring back the ban

Massachusetts cannabis shops were being served an eviction notice – voters refused to sign it. According to preliminary results from the 3 November election, Question 8, which would have repealed legal recreational sales, was defeated; the existing market remains. Idaho rejected a different idea: giving legislators alone the power to legalize cannabis and certain other substances, removing citizens’ ability to do so through a ballot initiative. That did not legalize cannabis in Idaho – residents kept the ability to put the issue to voters in a future election.
