Cronos buys the largest participant in the Dutch experiment for €57.5 million

Cronos completed its acquisition of CanAdelaar, one of ten licensed producers in the Dutch regulated-sales experiment, for a base price of €57.5 million plus possible performance payments for 2026 and 2027. The company calls the acquired business the pilot’s largest participant and market-share leader; that is the dealmaker’s estimate, not an independent ranking. The experiment still covers ten municipalities and 69 of the country’s 562 coffee shops — a large acquisition inside a carefully outlined sandbox.
