A patient complaint in Maine finds six contaminated products
Maine’s Office of Cannabis Policy says a complaint in mid-September led it to test products from The B Maine, finding unsafe levels of bacteria, yeast or mould in two flower strains and four types of pre-rolls. In some samples, bacterial counts exceeded 490,000 colony-forming units per gram against the adult-use programme threshold of 100,000. This is a patient advisory about specific products, not a verdict on the entire medical market; it is also a rare case in which a complaint made it all the way to the laboratory.
