A Virginia senator enters a case involving 100 kilograms

A US federal grand jury indicted 82-year-old Virginia state senator Lillie Louise Lucas and six other defendants on charges involving marijuana distribution, money laundering, fraud and other offences. Prosecutors allege that Lucas led a group which arranged the distribution of at least 100 kilograms of marijuana over five years in a scheme estimated at $4.5 million. An indictment is an allegation rather than a finding of guilt, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless proved guilty in court.
