Mendocino puts a hidden economy in a museum case

The Mendocino County Museum's Behind the Redwood Curtain exhibition traces California cannabis history from the 1970s to legalization in 2016. Its focus includes personal memories from the Emerald Triangle, where the plant was simultaneously culture, agriculture and a hidden economy. The exhibition runs through 28 November: what people once avoided recording is now carefully described on museum labels.
