Cannabis questions can reach a nurse

Clinical psychologist Morgan Douglass studies how older adults and people living with chronic illness use cannabis to manage symptoms. In a University of Colorado article published on 30 October, she describes an awkward situation: patients seek help from retail staff who also lack medical training. Colorado’s nurse-led Leaf 411 hotline is one example of another approach; Douglass is also preparing a grant application to study older adults who already use cannabis for symptom management. They would report their symptoms remotely, but the proposed project has not produced results or established treatment efficacy.
