A cannabis shop needed a second permission slip
Trulieve has acquired another piece of paper that actually changes things: on 2 November, the company confirmed federal registrations for its medical dispensaries. This framework covers defined medical activities – the recreational market remains outside it. According to the U.S. Justice Department’s 30 October announcement, the DEA’s first round covered more than 900 medical dispensaries in seven states; that is the overall total, while Trulieve did not disclose how many of its own locations received registrations. A state licence does not turn into federal permission automatically: each registered dispensary underwent a separate DEA pre-registration investigation.
