In São Paulo, the cannabis conversation reaches walls and stalks

This year Brazil’s ExpoCannabis programme goes beyond medicine: organisers are discussing hemp building materials, agricultural technology and biotechnology. Even the stalk gets a place in the big conversation. The fourth edition takes place on 20–22 November at São Paulo Expo, with a scientific congress named after Elisaldo Carlini, workshops and a literary lounge. Behind that range of subjects is an established medical community: Kaya Mind estimated 1,012,887 regular medical cannabis patients in Brazil in June, according to High Times; this is a research company’s estimate, not a government registry count.
